Cladding is on!

The cladding on the facade has been installed, it's now taking shape!

The metal capping above the corbel bricks will be painted the same colour as the cladding (I think the final cladding colour will be similar to the current colour, maybe they won't bother painint it haha). This was something that didn't come up at colour selection and we freaked when we saw it in Ironstone (apparently it got done on that colour to match the front door) but the SS advised that they'll fix it by painting it so it's all good!

Plaster didn't end up starting today as they got delayed at another job. Not to worry, I guess it gives us something else to look forward to tomorrow or the next day (when they manage to start).

Plaster has been delivered!

The plaster boards have been delivered! we can't wait to see the walls up!

Insulation done

Wall insulation has been done and the roof insulation has started! The walls are taking shape now! no more back of bricks with messy mortar!

Cleaned up bricks

The bricks have been cleaned up and they look really good. Some chips here and there from the roof tiles layers and maybe from the cleaning but the SS and the brickie advised that they'll be replaced.

Now that they are cleaned you can see a few inconsistencies with the width of the mortar but I guess they can't be perfect!

Electrical fit out done

The sparkys were on site today and did all the wiring. Nearly everything is in the right location apart from a couple of powerpoints / light switches that are on the right wall but wrong location. I'll speak to the SS in the morning and I am sure they'll be fixed no probs.

Wisdom and specially our SS (F) are doing a great job, they are going full steam ahead!

We have a roof! Tiles are on!

The house is really taking shape now, with the roof tiles on and the bricks finished, we love it! the brickies have done such a fantastic job and the tilers are nearly finished.

I think they might have run out of tiles, as we looked for unbroken tiles (to keep some in the garage as spares) and we could not find any and then we noticed the bold patch on the right hand side of the house... The outdoor leisure is looking good too. This pic was taken from the EVIL deck, it might as well come in handy for something... I'll try to ignore the fact that you can see straight into the whole house, I don't want to upset myself again and I am hoping they'll put the privacy screen up anway.

Roof sarking is on! phew!

Well, went quickly past the block this morning and the sarking is there! phew!
I don't really know why they installed the batons first and then the sarking... Did they forget? Not sure, but I guess it's all ok now...
